Still on 253 in the House. Rep. Kelly criticizes not just the bill, but the entire legislature. Says nobody read the bill, otherwise they would have noticed the prescription sales tax error and "trigger" problems. Says everyone needs to take their jobs more seriously.
When Diehl moved to previous question, there was some applause. Speaker Jones joked that it was one thing actually worth celebrating.
Previous question has been approved. Vote on 253 coming up soon.
HB 253 fails with 94 votes. Needed 109 votes.
FWIW, about 27% of you were right on guessing the # of votes the income tax bill would get.
"We're either going to vote to override this bill today or bring it up next session. We'll be discussing it next year."
(Reminder: If you have questions or comments on any part of the veto session, feel free to post them here using the comments function)
Looks like that bill won't have enough to override the governor.
Vote on 339 still going on. It's been going on for some time now -- fluctuating between 106-108 votes. Very close.
Still on 339. Lots of last minute whipping going on. Next bill up is the nullification bill.
After much delay and a few vote changes, HB 339 reaches 109 votes.
339 is overridden in the House, will move to the Senate. Next up should be HB 436, the so-called nullification bill.
