Good evening everyone - we'll get started here tonight. I'm Kelsey Proud, Engagement Editor for St. Louis Public Radio and The Beacon. I'll be your host here in the live blog and chat tonight.
First question: What do you hope to hear most from the governor tonight?
Governor Nixon has started speaking.
"The state of our state is strong and growing stronger," Nixon says. Do you agree?
"We didn't just make government smaller, we made it smarter," Nixon says.
Now heading into the education portion of the speech.
What is the biggest challenge facing Missouri's education system? Share your thoughts.
"This is the year to get serious about fully funding our schools." Nixon says.
"There is no more honorable profession than being a teacher." - Gov. Nixon
Nixon calls again for a tuition freeze for undergraduate tuition at Missouri state universities.
"Education is the best economic development tool there is," Nixon says. Do you agree? If not, what's the best economic development tool?
